Xue has an academic background and experience using AI algorithms in medical imaging acquisition, analysis, and clinical application . Prior to Carina, Xue worked at Springbok Analytics as the CTO and the University of Virginia as an Assistant Professor of Research. He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia and has published multiple peer-reviewed papers on the subjects of novel MRI acquisition and reconstruction methods and AI-based medical image processing.
Quan received his Ph.D. in Medical Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He began his career as a senior research physicist at TomoTherapy Inc. and helped develop many features of that system that are now widely used in clinics, most notably VoLo, and TomoEdge. Quan has authored and co-authored 70+ peer-reviewed journal articles and has received NIH SBIR support to develop AI solutions for radiation therapy, which ultimately led to the founding of Carina.
Kanchan is an experienced data scientist at Carina AI. Having earned a Bachelor's in Computer Science from Anderson University and a Master's in Data Science from George Washington University, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. When she's not wearing her ‘Data Scientist’ hat, she loves to read, write, and travel to explore other places, people, and culture.
Gaofeng is responsible for algorithm development and deployment at Carina AI. He holds a Master's in Data Science from George Washington University, and a Bachelor's in Economics from the University of Nottingham. Gaofeng is passionate about both AI research and application and collaborates with researchers and colleagues to develop AI-driven algorithms for radiograph pattern recognition.
Vasileios (Vasilis for friends and colleagues) graduated from Johns Hopkins University, with a Master’s in Electrical & Computer Engineering. As a Data Scientist, Vasileios crunches algorithms and medical data to ensure the protection of patient protected health information and enable research using patient data to improve diagnostic methods and lead to new innovations. In his free time, Vasileios enjoys hanging out with friends, doing outdoor activities, and exploring the world.
James holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Kansas. His reseach career has spanned multiple fields including high energy nuclear physics, breast cancer epigenetics, and medical physics. He is currently enrolled in a Medical Physics certificate program at the University of Kentucky with dreams of one day becoming a medical physicist.
Zihan has spent the last six years learning everything there is to know about computer engineering -- from frontend to backend. He is currently applying this knowledge in his role as software engineer for Carina AI, where he responsible for software development, UI design, and framework design.
